Givin it to me right (09 August 2010)
I really enjoyed the album. There are very few songs that I didn't vibe with. I like the older feel of most of the tracks. If you listen to what they play beyond the radio, I am sure you will enjoy it.

Could not wait for this CD!! (04 August 2010)
I have been a fan of Ms Fiona, but did not know her name. When I realized who she was, I was very excited to get her CD. I love her songs including "It kills me", I know it is anthem-like, but I look at it as a stroll down memory lane and then say never again and smile and enjoy the music. Ay-Yo, at first I did not think I would like, but it has grown on me. Has a lot of old school and be-bop flavor, and wonderful ecletic mixture or musical styles.

  Some nice throw-back r&b (03 August 2010)
A comfortable and engaging voice, I enjoy Melanie Fiona's funkier jams over the slower ballads. But that's true for me as a general rule, I'm not into the slow songs. So, while she does them well, let's focus instead on "Give it to me Right" and, more importantly, "You Stopped My Heart." The former samples a classic Zombie's song, and the hook does catch you. However, the latter is straight out of Motown and like crack in my ears, I can't stop listening to it. Or, as Fiona says, I can't get past the one-two-three. Love it.

Good CD! A little heavy on sampling though! (21 July 2010)
I think this is a very solid effort for a debut. I love love love the vocal quality of her voice. Great style. Somewhat reminiscent of a retro Keysha Cole. I did not like that a few of the songs are basically old songs with new lyrics, such as "Give Me Right" being sampled from The Zombies' "Time of the Season". And the song "Teach Him" comes directly from the song "No Volvere" from the Gypsy Kings. (Beautiful guitar as is the case with many Gypsy Kings songs!!!)

But I am looking forward to seeing more by this artist. It kills me is a gem of a song!

  One hit (17 July 2010)
I wished I had bought only the song "It kills me". I should have downloaded the MP3 single. I did not like any of the other songs on the cd.
