  A Career Album (27 August 2010)
Blitz & Co return with one of the best albums of their fabulous careers, an all out thrash guitar fest. Riffs galore & blazing solos that just make you want to hit replay each time you listen to this album. The songs are also some of the longest they've ever done, with most clocking in around the 5 minute mark. DD Verni's bass playing really shines on this album and whoever lit the fire under Dave Linsk should be commended because he tears it on every song. This is undeniably the best thing since Horrorscope & clearly a top 3 album in the bands catalog. The highlight reel includes: The Green & Black, Ironbound, The Head & Heart, and The SRC. So why not get yourself some thrash metal today !

HONESTLY, MEH, MEH, MEH!!! (22 July 2010)
YEA, it's heavy, it's loud, it's OVERKILL, but it's boring and lacking. I haven't found much interesting stuff coming from OVERKILL in years. To me, their last best album was THE KILLING KIND. I haven't found anything on IRONBOUND that really caught my attention except that they started to employ dual vocals on some songs.

I respect this band immensely for their tenacity over the years and always keeping it true to the METAL but sometimes I just really wonder for how much longer and why?

already an instant metal classic (08 July 2010)
I've been a fan of over kill since taking over came out,and I'm totally blown away with this new album.Track for track this thing just rocks. It's fast, and just a killer record. If you're a metal head from way back like me,or a youngster, you'll love this new Over Kill Cd.

Umong the great thrash trinity within the last year! (29 June 2010)
Man, within the last year, I myself, and many others have been treated to 3 albums, that to me, are thrash masterpieces, firstly Megadeths awesome THRASH return 'Endgame', and then Heathens awesome return 'The Evolution of Chaos' and now ANOTHER thrash legend has returned with a masterpiece, and that being Overkill 'Ironbound'

Now to me, classic Overkill (Feel The Fire, Taking Over, Under The Influence, The Years of Decay and Horrorscope) are all thrash classics, but after the aforementioned Horrorscope, I feel that Overkill went off the radar a bit, going from a thrash band to more of a groove sounding band, although their album 'Killbox 13' is pretty killer, that was the only one of that era I found to my liking.

Then in 2007, they released 'Immortalis' which saw some promise of Overkill returning to do what they do best, and that is thrash!, skip forward to 2010, and we have 'Ironbound' and it just doesn't show PROMISE, it shows they are indeed, THRASHING again, now you won't be able to compare this to the early albums, as it has a more modern thrash sound, with modern production of course.

All of the songs on here are fast, thrashy, and heavy, but Overkill don't just hook you with their thrashiness, they still hook you with excellent slow tempo's that show in every song, they know how to keep it interesting, everything here is played to perfection, from the thrashy guitars, to the excellent drumming, and excellent bass lines, AND, vocal master Bobby 'Blitz' delivers some of the greatest vocals of his career, but when didn't he deliver great vocals, he always did!

So anyways, if you're looking for a modern THRASH classic, you MUST pick this up, especially if you're a fan of the old Kill, and also check out Megadeth 'Endgame' and Heathen 'The Evolution of Chaos' Thrash Metal has made a comeback, and these 3 bands are the front runners of it.

Thanx For Something... (20 June 2010)
Overkill returns with a huge vengence. After battling cancer and a possible stroke Blitz and the boys deliver big time with this effort. Known for putting the strongest track first they go fast and heavy with monster intensity for all 3 of the opening tracks. It's hard to decide which one is best. This kind of feels like a greatest hits album but filled with all new stuff. They sound hungry. They stay true to their roots which is amazing after 25 years in the biz. They really prove that they can stand toe to toe with anyone in the genre. If there is a Heavy Metal Hall of Fame in this world Overkill should be in it. They never went soft. They never "outgrew" the style. These guys are "purists" and fans like me who have followed them their entire career give thanx that this band has provided the soundtrack to our lives. This one is on par with Horrorscope, Taking Over, and Under the Influence.
