| | Customer Reviews: INCANTO (06 January 2009)I LOVE BOCELLI BUT WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THIS TYPE OF MUSIC TOO "HEAVY" FOR ME Guess it helps to be grey haired and Italian (04 January 2009)Well, After having read all the reviews and listened to the tunes available I still got the CD and I am glad. I guess you have to be grey-haired (I'm 60 and I grew up listening to Como sing these songs) and Italian (I'm only 1/2 Italian, I make a mean Sunday Gravy with Meatballs). Music, like beauty, is in the eyes (or ears in this case) of the beholder! all the best Mrs Doughy I love him and everything, but this album is not his best. (02 January 2009)Don't get me wrong. I've been an Andrea Bocelli fan ever since I was a teenager (back in 1998). Having loved 'The Best of Andrea Bocelli: Vivere,' I awaited the release of this album, 'Incanto' (which means 'Enchanted'). And when I got it, I sat down to listen. Sadly, I didn't think that this CD was as good as his earlier stuff. The opening track, 'Un Amore Così Grande (A Love So Great),' was fantastic. It had the essence of the old school Bocelli that captured listeners' attention with elegant melodies, soaring high notes, and lavish backgrounds. Now that song has potential of making it onto an ultimate Bocelli best-of. The rest of the album - which features Italian, Spanish, and even English boat songs - is okay, but it lacks the variety and the charm that made Bocelli a household favorite among millions all over the world for so long. The singing is good, as usual, but there could have been better song choices (as someone else said). So I don't know. I don't think Bocelli is losing his charm, but I hope he gets it right for the next album. For now, I think I'll take out the 'Vivere' album I mentioned earlier, 'Romanza,' 'Sogno,' or something like that. I suggest the rest of you do the same. 'Incanto' is only recommended for those Bocelli fans that simply must have it all. A better collection of songs like those featured on this CD is 'The Voice,' by Russell Watson. What a disappointed from a star! (28 December 2008)was given as a gift because I "was" a fan of Mr. Bocelli. Soehow, his music in this CD sounds like any tenor singing Italian songs. I guess it's only for Opera folks. I missed the heart and soul of his in this CD. This CD is quite a distance from Vivere. People now tend to buy this CD because of his name and it seems to me like he only sings to show off his voice in this one. Speaking of the voice, I prefer the tenor Russell Watson in "The Voice". They sang a same song in these 2 CDs so you can compare for yourself. I think older folks would like this CD for nostalgy. I am 40 but I don't care to listen to the end of this CD.
